Coach Alex returns to DWC for her second season! In her inaugural year with the club, she coached both the Gold and Maroon groups, helping guide DWC’s largest wrestling team on record. A four-year varsity wrestler in high school, Coach Alex gained valuable coaching experience mentoring youth wrestlers as Head Coach and Competition Coordinator for the Neah-Kah-Nie Mat Club. She went on to compete for the University of Michigan Club Wrestling Team, serving as a passionate advocate for the women’s program. Having graduated from the University of Michigan in May 2026 with her Bachelor's in Political Science, she is currently applying to graduate programs. She is also the founder of The Aguinaga Letterman Fund, a non-profit assisting underprivileged student-athletes. Coach Alex is CPR and First Aid certified.
Coach Owen is excited to join the DWC coaching staff! Hailing from California, Coach Owen was a four-year varsity wrestler, three-time team captain, and 2024 CIF Masters Qualifier. Throughout high school, he trained under prominent coaches Jacob Harman and Mark Muñoz. Coach Owen began his collegiate career at Michigan State University, where he competed on the MSU Club Wrestling Team and served as a volunteer athletic trainer. Now at the University of Michigan pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a focus on Movement Science, he continues his active club wrestling career. An Eagle Scout and recipient of the Presidential Volunteer Service Award, Coach Owen is CPR and First Aid certified.
Coach Yoseph enters his second season with DWC after coaching the Gold and Maroon groups last year! A Michigan native, Coach Yoseph competed on the varsity team at Dearborn High School for four years, where he developed strong technical skills and mentored younger teammates. Following graduation, he expanded his coaching background at the Elite Wrestling Institute (formerly Rise Wrestling Academy), training K–12 wrestlers in proper technique, conditioning, and sportsmanship. Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biology, Health, and Society at the University of Michigan, Coach Yoseph is also gaining extensive clinical and shadowing experience as he plans to attend dental school.
